Under 9 Novice Challenge Cup – Girls

If an under 9 team does not wish to progress to the Premier 5 Piece Championships, it may choose to compete in this separate section which uses the 4 Piece Challenge Cup rules and progression.

Awards

Medals are given to the top teams and the top six individuals.

Dates

Calendar

In the autumn term.  Two days, Saturday and Sunday.

Eligibility

All schools are encouraged to enter teams in the six age groups. Currently there is no limit on the number of schools allowed to enter each age group. However, with the exceptions of entries for the under 9 and under 15 2 Piece sections which are open to all schools, teams from schools placed in the top six positions in the relevant age groups in the previous season’s Premier 5 Piece Championships, with “relevance” being determined according to the 5 Piece eligibility criteria, are not able to compete.

Tie Breaker for 5 Piece Qualification

In the event of a tie in the 2 Piece competition, where it may matter about placings when qualifying for the Girls’ Premier 5 Piece competition, the totals of the teams’ top 4 vault scores will be compared. In the case of this being tied then the decision will go on the totals of the top 3 vault scores and so on.

This competition is currently held in conjunction with the Boys’ 2 Piece Championships.
