Notes on Under 9, 10 & 11 Challenge Cup Set Floor video with bonuses.

This video gives a visual idea of how the sequence should be performed. It is only an aid
and the detailed wording in the rules should be referred to.

Good posture with tension for 3 seconds.
This is held for 3 seconds and shows good tension and posture. This gymnast has started 2m from the edge of the mat but she should have started a little further in as she is quite tall.

Spin 360°
The spin is performed on her toes with free leg high and toe to knee, finishing in front with the foot turned out. The back foot is extended with the toe pointed behind on the floor.
The arms are optional in the spin, and they have finished in a high V position above her head. However, there is a wobble on the landing, which will receive a deduction.
This gymnast could stretch more in the final position so that her arms are above her head.
The bonus is the 360° in the spin.

Handstand Forward Roll.
She immediately steps into the handstand and finishes with her arms in a high V position above her head. This gymnast does a circle with her arms before going into the handstand. This is optional. This skill can also be performed without circling the arms. She finishes with her arms in a high V position above her head.
The bonus is the Handstand.

Round off, immediate rebound Star Jump.
She performs a hurdle step before the round off, which immediately rebounds into a star jump. This gymnast stretches up after the star jump. This is optional.
There are two bonuses. One for the round Off and the second one is if the Star Jump being immediately after the Cartwheel/Round Off.

ChasséCatleap, Cartwheel, Cartwheel ¼ turn inward to lunge.
The chassé is performed with arms in a low V position, but the arms are not in a “ring” position above the head in the catleap which will incur a deduction. The knees are high, and there is good elevation on the catleap. There is a slight pause going into the second cartwheel. This will receive a deduction. She finishes in a lunge with arms in a high V above her head, but her lunge could be deeper. She would get both bonuses.

There are two bonuses. One for all skills being linked and the second one for adding a second cartwheel before the cartwheel to ¼ turn inwards to lunge.

Forward roll to pike sit.
She does have her legs straight once her feet have left the floor, and she finishes with her back straight in the pike sit. But her arms are above her head and then she slowly takes them down to a forward position, parallel to the floor. Ideally this should be done more quickly to avoid a possible deduction.

Pike Fold.
She does not raise her arms above her head before reaching forward into the Pike Fold, so she will receive a deduction. She does hold the fold for 3 seconds with her hands on the floor by her feet, but her arms are bent, so she will receive a deduction.

Back Support to Side Support to Front Support.
She does not properly show the pike position before going into the back support, so she will receive a deduction. She holds the Back support for 3 seconds with fingers facing the toes. She then rotates the supporting hand before turning to show the Side Support with her free arm in the air. The feet should be on top of each other so she will receive a small deduction for this. She then holds the front support for 3 seconds with her fingers facing forward.
The bonus is for showing a Side Support shown with free arm in the air. In the front support it is optional if the toes are flat on the floor or curled under.

Headstand with straight legs – passing through a tucked position.
From the Front Support, she does not lower her knees to the floor and sit back on her heels. Instead, she slides her knees forward to sit on her heels. She will receive a deduction for this. She does go into a headstand with straight legs, passing through a tucked position and holds it for 3 seconds, before returning to her feet. There are a couple of wobbles and her legs are not completely straight in the headstand, so she will receive deductions for these. She does finish with her arms in a V, but they could be higher above her head.
The bonus is for a Headstand with straight legs, going through a tucked position.

Tucked Backward roll.
She performed a tucked backward roll with feet together, finishing with her arms in a high V above her head. The legs may be bent or straight during the roll. Straight Jump 360°. She did step forward and join her feet together before the straight jump and finished with arms in a high V position above her head. She also landed securely. She will receive both bonuses.
There are two bonuses: One is for the 360° jump and the second one is for a secure landing. The arms are optional before the jump, during the jump and on the landing.

This gymnast received all 10 bonuses.

This video was filmed during a training session. In a competition, this gymnast would receive a deduction for her hair, for the wording on her shorts and for the support on her leg not being skin coloured.
