Notes on Under 9, 10 & 11 Premier Set Floor video without bonuses.
This video gives a visual idea of how the sequence should be performed. It is only an aid
and the detailed wording in the rules should be referred to.
Good posture with tension for 3 seconds.
The gymnast starts 2 metres from the edge of the mat. Good upright posture, with tension, is shown and held for 3 seconds. The position of the arms and hands is optional.
Spin 360°.
The 360⁰ spin is performed on her toes with free leg high and toe to knee, finishing in front with the foot turned out. The back foot is extended with the toe pointed behind on
the floor. Arms in a high V position above her head.
Handstand Forward Roll.
She lifts her leg and immediately performs a handstand forward roll, finishing with her arms in a high V position above her head.
Round Off, Immediate rebound Star Jump.
She hurdle steps into the Round Off and immediately rebounds into a Star Jump and lands with control. She will receive a deduction for her toes not being pointed in the Star Jump.
This gymnast stretches up after the Star Jump. This is optional.
Chassé Catleap, Cartwheel, Cartwheel ¼ turn inward to lunge.
The chassé is performed with arms in a low V position, and the catleap is performed with the arms in a “ring” position above the head. Her chassé is flat footed so will receive a deduction. She has elevation in the catelap, but both knees are not high so she will receive another deduction. There is a slight pause between the two cartwheels and her toes are not pointed in either cartwheel. These faults will receive deductions. She finishes with her chest high, in a lunge with arms in a high V above her head.
Forward roll to pike sit.
She has her legs straight once her feet have left the floor, and she finishes in the pike sit with her arms out forward, parallel to the floor. But her torso is not completely vertical, so she will receive a deduction.
Bridge.
She rolls back onto the floor and then pushes up into a Bridge, with legs straight and knees together. There is a lack of extension in her shoulders, and the Bridge is not quite held for 3 seconds. Both of these will receive deductions.
Back Support to Side Support to Front Support.
She lowers the bridge to the floor, but she does not clearly show the pike position with hands on the floor by hips before going into the back support. This will receive a deduction. She holds the Back Support for 3 seconds with fingers facing the toes, before rotating her hand to show the Side Support with free arm in the air. She continues round to Front Support with fingers forward, but she does not hold the Front Support for 3 seconds and her hands and feet are not in a direct line, parallel to the mats. These will
receive deductions.
In the Front Support, it is optional if the toes are flat on the floor or curled under.
Headstand with straight legs.
From the Front Support, she lowers her knees to the floor and sits back on her heels
before going into a Headstand with straight legs, passing through a tucked position. She
holds the Headstand for 3 seconds before returning to her feet and standing with her
arms stretched above her head in the high V position. There is a slight wobble, and the
Headstand is not vertical. These will receive deductions.
Backward roll.
She performed a backward roll with feet together, finishing with her arms in a high V position above her head.
The legs may be bent or straight during the roll.
Tuck Jump 180°.
She steps forward and joins her feet together before the Tuck Jump 180⁰ and finishes with her arms in a high V position above her head. She will receive a deduction for her knees not to her chest, lack of height in the jump and landing with her feet slightly apart. She did land securely, so she would receive a bonus.
The arms are optional before the jump, during the jump and on the landing.
This video was filmed during a training session. In a competition, this gymnast would receive a deduction for her hair and for the wording on her shorts.
